Hawzah News Agency- The academic session, titled "An Analysis of the Strategic Role of Lady Zainab (SA) in the Continuation and Elucidation of the Ashura Uprising," was held at the Fatemeh al-Zahra (SA) Seminary in Kamyaran, drawing a gathering of seminary students and instructors.
Jihad Beyond the Battlefield
Addressing the assembly, Hojatoleslam Rouhani stated that Lady Zainab's mission commenced the very moment Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his companions fell on the plains of Karbala.
"Many imagine the arena of uprising was confined to the battlefield," he said. "But the truth is that Lady Zainab (SA), through her unparalleled patience, insight, and courage, prevented the message of this movement from being extinguished under the dust of Umayyad distortions."
He explained that through her thunderous sermons in Kufa and Damascus, she laid bare the true face of the Yazidi regime before public opinion, demonstrating that jihad is not restricted to the field of combat. Rather, in the arena of awakening and enlightenment, her role served as the completion of Imam Hussein's (PBUH) mission.
Masterful Leadership of the Captive Caravan
Hojatoleslam Rouhani further highlighted Lady Zainab's astute management of the caravan of captives, describing it as one of the most outstanding dimensions of her leadership.
"Preserving the morale of the survivors and guiding them under the extraordinarily harsh conditions following the tragedy was among her most brilliant strategic feats," he noted. "This leadership transformed Ashura from a limited historical event into an enduring cultural, doctrinal, and political current throughout Islamic history."
The True Guardian of Hussein's Message
In his concluding remarks, the scholar asserted that Lady Zainab (SA) was not merely a grief-stricken witness to tragedy, but a conscious leader who, through wisdom and resolve, articulated the truth of the Ashura uprising for all generations to come.
"If the blood of Imam Hussein (PBUH) kept Islam alive, it was Zainab (SA) who, through her message-bearing of tyranny, etched it permanently into the memory of history," he stated. "Today, she stands as the true guardian of the Husseini message and the complete embodiment of the bond between faith, awareness, and responsibility."
The gathering concluded with participants reaffirming the enduring relevance of Lady Zainab's model for contemporary struggles against oppression and tyranny across the Muslim world.
